girlfriend: i think we want the, uh, check.

girlfriend, suspiciously: you’re not that old.

me: i am not a whit fooled by your byzantine tapestry of lies.
girlfriend: we need to talk to robbie about this whole coffee business.

me: and so then i was like, if we keep the footnote, we have to reproduce the figure from that other thing, but then, we have to renumber all the subsequent figures
girlfriend: i’m very interested in what you are saying! keep talking.
me: but then if we remove the footnote, we have to renumber all of the footnotes, which there were a bunch of, so either way you have to mark up the thingy
girlfriend: let’s just open this door here.
me: but then i was like, the thing about footnote ennumeration

me: OH HELL YEAH.

that’s right. there was homemade sushi, and two ice cream cakes, and just an ungodly amount of cookies. also, beverages of a frankly heroic abundance. also, it was as well-concealed a surprise party as it is conceivable to have. well played, girlfriend.

the young dads have a myspace page now. very little is on it, except for the video of My Cajón and a song we recorded yesterday entitled Bet You Didn’t Know (That I Was Hiding in Your Car).
it is probably our best song yet.
